This document describes the papaya mealybug (Paracoccus marginatus Williams method.
This document applies to the quarantine and identification of papaya mealybugs.
2 Normative references

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Abdominal umbilical circulus
Gastroschisis The middle part of the 3rd and 4th abdominal segments on the ventral surface of the insect body is bounded by a keratinized, narrow sclerotic frame, which is mostly round, oval, or rectangular.
shaped or hourglass-shaped epidermal area.
Note. The number and size of umbilicus vary greatly among different scale insect species, and some species have no umbilicus.
3.2 Ostioles
Back crack The two sides of the dorsal plate of the insect body are shaped like human eyes, with two lobes, each with three glands, hairs, lobes or hardened structures.
Note. There are two pairs of dorsal pores, both on both sides of the dorsal plate, the anterior dorsal pore is on the prothorax, and the postdorsal pore is on the 6th abdominal segment.
3.3 anal ring
A ring-shaped structure at the dorsal end of the insect body, with rows of annular holes and 6 annular hairs on the ring. This ring is the opening of the anus.
3.4 Cerarius
It is composed of cone-shaped spines (or cone spines), trigeminal glands and attached hairs, and is the secretory and supporting structure of the marginal wax filaments.
Note 1.Those distributed on the dorsal margin are called dorsal margin puncta groups or simply puncta groups; those distributed on the back of the body are called dorsal puncta groups.
Note 2.There are usually 17 or 18 pairs of puncta on the dorsal margin of the body, 4 pairs on the head, 6 pairs on the thorax, and 8 pairs on the abdomen.
3.5 disk pores
Round hole-shaped wax-secreting structure.
Note. This type of hole is divided into three compartments. three compartments, which are triangular or nearly triangular, with three compartments inside; multi-compartment glands, which are round, with 1 central compartment and multiple compartments (6 to 12 compartments) around them.
The largest of the pancreatic glands is generally located near the vulva; the five-compartment gland is between the three-compartment gland and the multi-compartment gland in size, with one center and five surrounding glands, forming a pentagon or nearly pentagon.
