GB/T 44566-2024 is the English-translated version of 节水型企业 建材行业.

GB/T 44566-2024 sets the criteria by which a building materials enterprise is recognised as water saving. Cement, glass, ceramics and concrete plants use large volumes of water for cooling, dust suppression, slurry and washing, and they are concentrated in northern provinces where water is scarcest, which is why water use per unit of product is a regulated quantity there and not merely a cost. The standard sets the evaluation index system and the requirements under it, covering management indicators and technical indicators, with normative annexes giving the scoring method for the management indicators and the calculation method for the technical indicators, so that the assessment produces a number rather than an opinion. It took effect on 1 January 2025.

4 Evaluation index system and requirements

4.1 The water-saving enterprise evaluation index system includes basic requirements, management indicators and technical indicators.

4.2 The basic requirements that water-saving enterprises should fully meet are shown in Table 1.
