Scope

GB/T 44511-2024 is the English-translated version of 城市轨道交通车辆耐撞性要求及验证.

GB/T 44511-2024 is the Chinese national standard covering the steel-wheel vehicle — metro, light rail and tram — judged by how it behaves in a collision: the crashworthiness design classes, the typical collision scenarios the design has to answer for, the passive safety requirements, the verification, and the deformable and rigid obstacles used in the impact and low-speed compression tests, where the concern is controlled energy absorption and the overriding that puts one car on top of another. The obstacle masses set in the annexes — 15 t and 7.5 t deformable, 3 t rigid — fix what a design has to survive before it can be called crashworthy. First edition, under the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. In force from 1 April 2025. Issued on 29 September 2024, it has been in force since 1 April 2025.
