1 Scope

This document describes the determination of azodicarbonamide in artificial leather and synthetic leather by HPLC.

This document is applicable to the determination of azodicarbonamide content in artificial leather and synthetic leather.

4 Principle

Azodicarbonamide in artificial leather and synthetic leather was extracted and concentrated by stirring with dimethyl sulfoxide, acetone and dichloroethane in a water bath.

The analysis was qualitative by retention time of azodicarbonamide standard and quantitative by external standard method.

5 Reagents and Materials

5.1 Azodicarbonamide standard (C2H4N4O2, CAS No.. 123﹘77﹘3). purity greater than 99.0% (mass fraction).

5.2 Dimethyl sulfoxide. analytical grade.

5.3 Acetone. chromatographic grade.

5.4 Ethylene dichloride. chromatographic grade.

5.5 Acetonitrile. analytical grade.

5.6 Mixed solvent. Measure 30 mL of dimethyl sulfoxide, 770 mL of acetone, and.200 mL of dichloroethane to prepare a mixed solvent.

It should be stored at room temperature and is valid for one month. 5.7 Nitrogen. >=99.99%.

5.8 Water. shall comply with the requirements for Grade II water in GB/T 6682.

5.9 Azodicarbonamide standard stock solution (1.0 mg/mL). Accurately weigh an appropriate amount of azodicarbonamide standard and prepare Prepare a standard stock solution with a content of 1.0 mg/mL. Store at room temperature and the validity period is one month.

5.10 Azodicarbonamide standard solution. Take an appropriate volume of azodicarbonamide standard stock solution and dilute it with acetonitrile to prepare the required A series of standard solutions of different amounts are prepared immediately before use.

5.11 Microporous filter membrane. 0.45 µm.
