GB/T 44440-2024 — This document specifies the equipment and method for determining the long-term water absorption of thermal insulation materials by the diffusion method.

The water absorption capacity of materials. These materials not only withstand close to 100% relative humidity on both sides for a long time during use, but also have Water vapour pressure gradients, such as on pitched roofs or unprotected floor insulation.

This document applies to some insulation materials, but not all types of insulation materials. Product standards for insulation materials should usually state this document may apply to specific products.

NOTE. For floor insulation, lower temperatures may be used instead of the 50°C test temperature currently specified in this document when more data become available.
