Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting is required.

This document is equivalent to ISO 23769:2021 "Test methods for functional characteristics of furniture mattresses".

The following minimal editorial changes were made to this document.

In B.3, change "each point shall be tested in the following order." 1), 4) "(in accordance with 7.3)" to "(in accordance with 7.4)", and corrected the editorial errors of ISO 23769:2021.

1 Scope

This document describes the durability, height damage and Method for testing the loss and hardness.

This document applies to adult mattresses for domestic and non-domestic use (excluding water mattresses and air mattresses).

This document does not apply to fitted sheets alone.

The test methods in this document do not include the evaluation of aging, degradation, flame retardancy and electrical properties.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Loading Curve

Deflection cure

The mattress is loaded with a loading pad, and the curve is obtained by the correlation between the force value and the corresponding depression value.

Hardness value

Determined from measurements on the load/deflection curve.

Note. The unit is Newton per millimeter (N/mm).

Firmness rating

Indicate the firmness of the mattress using a number ranging from 1 to 10 (to 1 decimal place).

Height loss

Changes in mattress height caused by durability or impact.

Note. The unit is millimeter (mm).
