Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020

"Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of

standardizing documents".

This document is identical to ISO 8755.2001 "Commercial road vehicles - 40 mm

drawbar eye - Interchangeability".

This document adds a clause "Terms and definitions".

For ease of use, this document has made the following editorial changes.

a) To coordinate with existing standardization documents, the document name has

been changed to "Road vehicles - 40 mm drawbar eye - Interchangeability";

b) Table notes have been added to Table 3.

1 Scope

This document specifies the requirements for interchangeability of 40 mm drawbar eyes.

This document applies to drawbar eyes between towing vehicles and trailers with a total

mass greater than 3.5 t.

For the purpose of this document, there are no terms and definitions that need to be

defined.

4 Marking

Drawbar eyes that meet the requirements of this document shall be marked as follows.

a) standard number of this document about drawbar eyes;

b) code for non-graded drawbar eyes, which is D40;

c) code for graded drawbar eyes (see 5.4).
