Scope
GB/T 43984-2024 is the English-translated version of 乒乓球课程学生运动能力测评规范.
GB/T 43984-2024 is the Chinese national standard for evaluating a student's athletic ability in a table tennis course, one of the family of school sport assessment standards issued by the Ministry of Education. Table tennis is the sport China teaches most systematically, and the standard reflects that: it fixes a six-grade ladder running from primary school to university, with the attainment requirements for each grade and the prescribed tests by which a student is judged to have reached it. It sets the classification and the attainment requirements, then the assessment for each of the six grades in turn, giving the test items, the equipment and setup, the procedure and the scoring, progressing from the basic strokes and multiball drills of the lower grades through the service, receive and footwork elements to the tactical and match play requirements of the highest. Because both the items and the criteria are national, a grade means the same thing in any Chinese school. It took effect on 28 May 2024.
