Scope
GB/T 43855-2024 is the English-translated version of 衣物洗涤质量要求.
GB/T 43855-2024 defines what a garment should be like when it comes back from a laundry or dry cleaner. Disputes in this trade are common and hard to settle, because the customer's complaint is usually about appearance - a stain that did not come out, a colour that changed, a shape that did not survive - and appearance is exactly what neither party can measure. Whether the fault lies with the cleaner or with a garment that was never going to withstand the process is the question, and without an agreed description of acceptable outcome it is argued rather than determined. This document specifies the sensory requirements and the physical and chemical requirements for laundered clothing in laundry and dyeing service operations, and describes the corresponding test methods - the sensory part covering what can be judged by trained inspection, the physical and chemical part covering what has to be measured, such as residual chemicals and changes in the fabric. It applies to clothing laundering in these services. Under ICS 03.080.20 and CCS A00;A09, it is written for laundry and dry cleaning operators, for the consumer associations and arbitration bodies who handle the disputes, and for the chains that need an internal quality standard their branches can be held to.
