Safety requirements and test methods for ski resort protective mats

1 Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions of protective pads, specifies the classification, requirements, marking and product instructions, and describes the test methods.

This document applies to the safety performance testing during the design, production and sales of protective mats used in ski resorts.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

4 Categories

According to the use position or impact force, protective pads are divided into Class I and Class II.

— Type I protective pads are placed at locations with faster sliding speeds or greater impact forces, such as obstacles on ski slopes;

— Type II protective pads are placed at locations where the sliding speed is slow or the impact force is small, such as the end of the stop zone.
