Design requirements for terrestrial wildlife corridors

1 Scope

This document establishes the design principles for terrestrial wildlife corridors and stipulates the pre-establishment survey, terrestrial wildlife habitat corridor design, terrestrial wildlife corridor design, Requirements for wildlife passage design, design outcomes, monitoring and evaluation, and renovation design.

This document applies to the delineation and restoration design of terrestrial wildlife habitat corridors, as well as the design of terrestrial wildlife passageways.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 terrestrialwildlife

Wild animals that breed or live primarily on land, including those that rely on water for reproduction but spend most of their time in Wild animals that live on land.

Note. Mainly includes mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.

The main service objects of the proposed terrestrial wildlife corridor.

3.3

Structures built or ecological corridors demarcated to ensure the migration, migration and dispersal of wild animals.

Note. It is divided into two categories. terrestrial wildlife habitat corridors and terrestrial wildlife passages.

3.3.1 corridor

Designate and protect or restore ecological areas suitable for wildlife survival, migration, and gene exchange to connect isolated habitats.
