This document describes a method for measuring the maximum sound pressure level produced by consumer headphones and personal music players, including the use of headphones Measurement of equipment or earphones, a combination of earphones and personal music players provided as a set and connected using a common interface such as wired or wireless method:
This document applies to the design, manufacturing and inspection of headphones for consumer use and personal music players that can be connected to headphones:
This document does not apply to mains-powered high-fidelity home equipment, monitoring headphones, headphones for medical purposes (hard of hearing, etc:) or as main Headphones and bone conduction headphones used as part of active hearing protection devices:
Note: Other safety requirements such as noise protection in office spaces or industrial environments are not affected by this document:
