Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 43393-2023 "Recycled Pulp". Compared with GB/T 43393-2023, the main differences are structural adjustments and editorial changes. Aside from the changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The definition of recycled pulp has been changed (see 3.1, 2023 version 3.1), adding dry-process recycled pulp and wet-process recycled pulp. Terms and definitions (see

b) Product categories have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 in the 2023 edition);

c) Added basic requirements (see 5.1);

d) The requirements for radioactive contamination have been changed (see 5.4,

5.2 in the 2023 edition);

e) Added microbiological indicator requirements and test methods (see

f) The sampling amount for determining the content of unbroken fiber components has been changed (see 6.2.4,

6.1.4 in the 2023 edition);

g) The testing methods for inclusions, radioactive contamination, and heavy metals have been revised (see 6.2.9, 6.3, 6.5; 6.1.9, 6.2,

6.4 in the 2023 edition);

h) The quantity of delivery lots has been changed (see 7.1, 2023 edition of 7.1);

i) The determination of sampling and test results has been changed (see 7.3, 7.4, and 7.3,

1 Scope

GB/T 43393-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering pulp made from recovered paper - the grades, the strength properties, the residual ink and stickies, the ash and the contaminants, which together decide what the pulp can be made into. It replaces GB/T 43393-2023 after only three years, which for a material standard usually means the trade around it changed fast. In force since 1 October 2026. It was issued on 31 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 October 2026, replacing GB/T 43393-2023. The document is under the responsibility of the China National Light Industry Council. This page is published from the official record of the 2026 edition; the clause text of a standard this recent is not yet in circulation, and the figures, limits and tables it contains are those of the document itself, delivered in full with the English translation.

This document defines the relevant terms and definitions, provides information on classification, and specifies the requirements, inspection rules, and standards for recycled pulp. The document includes information on packaging, transportation, storage, and quality certificates, and describes the corresponding testing methods. This document applies to recycled pulp used as a raw material for papermaking fibers. This document does not apply to waste paper scraps that have only undergone simple cutting, packing, or other processing.
