3 Terms and definitions

sharkjaw

A device that temporarily holds the wire rope or chain rigging on the deck and can bear the load:

Note 1: The left-hand shark claw refers to the shark claw arranged on the left side of the central axis of the tow pin (3:2) when the observer is located at the stern of the ship and looks toward the bow:

Note 2: The right-hand shark claw refers to the shark claw arranged on the right side of the central axis of the towing pin (3:2) when the observer is located at the stern of the ship and looks toward the bow:
