Scope
GB/T 43365-2023 is the English-translated version of 增材制造 金属铸件用砂型性能检测方法.
GB/T 43365-2023 is the Chinese national test method for the properties of sand moulds made by additive manufacturing for metal castings.
Clause 1 covers the test items and conditions, sample preparation and the test report and describes the corresponding detection methods, and the contents list groups the items into high-temperature performance, room-temperature mechanical properties and physical and chemical properties, with figures for the figure-of-eight and long strip specimens and for the compressive, shear, tensile and flexural strength devices.
Its terms include gas evolution, expressed in millilitres per gram, loss on ignition, measured after drying at 105 °C to 110 °C and burning to constant weight at 950 °C to 1000 °C, and permeability.
It applies to property testing of sand moulds for metal castings prepared by additive manufacturing. Issued on 27 November 2023, it has applied since 1 June 2024.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 5611-2017 and GB/T 35351 apply to this document.
3.1 Gas evolution
Gas generating property The ability of molding (core) sand to evolve gas when heated.
Note: Expressed by the volume of gas precipitated per unit mass (core) of sand, the unit is milliliters per gram (mL/g). [Source: GB/T 5611-2017, 4.6.32, with modifications]
3.2 Loss on ignition
burn reduction After drying at 105°C~110°C, the weight loss of the sand sample excluding free water when it is burned to constant weight at 950°C~1000°C accounts for the total weight loss of the dried sand sample. Percentage of weight. [Source: GB/T 5611-2017,4.6.46]
3.3 Breathabilitypermeability
An indicator of the porosity of a compact sand sample.
Note: It is expressed as the air volume passing through a 1cm² cross-section and a 1cm high compacted sand sample within 1 minute under standard temperature and 98Pa air pressure. [Source: GB/T 5611-2017,4.6.31]
