1 Scope

This document specifies the terminology and commercial specifications for hydraulic breakers installed as attachments on load-bearing machines, usually referred to as

Earthmoving machinery as defined in ISO 6165, such as excavators, backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders and mini loaders; or with a hydraulic breaker installed

At the front end of the small arm of drilling rigs, pedestal boom systems, demolition robots, etc.

Hydraulic breakers are commonly used to demolish or break rock, concrete, brickwork, asphalt, etc.

This document does not apply to breakers powered by pneumatic, thermal, or electromagnetic energy, nor to portable or handheld breakers.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Carrier

Mobile or non-mobile machinery that provides power and range of motion to installed components.

Note. Mobile machinery is usually an excavator, backhoe loader, skid steer loader or mini loader. Non-mobile machinery is usually a pedestal boom system,

Dismantle robots, etc.

An assembly of components mounted on a load carrier (3.1) for a specific purpose.
