1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of radio-controlled clocks and describes general test methods for signal reception.
This document is applicable to radio-controlled clocks with pointer indication or/and liquid crystal display or/and LED (light-emitting diode) display. Radio-controlled clock movements can also be used.
Use accordingly.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
radio-controlledclock
A quartz clock that can receive time code signals (3.2) and automatically calibrate the time and calendar based on the received signals.
3.2
time code signal standardtimesignal
A time-coded modulated signal broadcast by the national statutory timing agency in the form of long-wave radio.
Note. For specific information on the world's major time code signals, see Appendix A.
3.3
receivingstate receivingstate
The state when the radio-controlled clock (3.1) receives the time code signal (3.2).
4 Signal reception test method
4.1 Test conditions
4.1.1 General environment
The ambient temperature of the test is 18 degrees C~25 degrees C, the temperature fluctuation during the entire test process is not more than 2 degrees C, and the relative humidity is 30%~70%.
4.1.2 Power supply
The supply voltage of the sample being inspected should be the nominal working voltage.
4.1.3 Pre-shipment
The inspected samples should be transported in the environment specified in 4.1.1 for no less than the specified time before testing.
4.2 Instruments and equipment
The resolution and maximum allowable error of test instruments and equipment are shown in Table 1.
