1 Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of soil conditioners in the production areas of agricultural products, and stipulates the technical requirements and verification methods for the use of soil conditioners.
This document is applicable to the improvement of obstacles such as soil hardening, acidification, salinization (coastal chloride salt soil), and nutrient degradation in agricultural product production areas.
This document does not apply to the improvement of factors such as soil continuous cropping obstacles, heavy metals and/or organic pollutants.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Agricultural production area
Areas related to the production of plants, animals, microorganisms and their products.
3.2 Soil constraint factor
Soil properties or morphological characteristics that hinder the normal growth and development of agricultural products due to natural or artificial reasons.
Note: Such as soil compaction, soil acidification, soil salinization, soil nutrient degradation, etc.
3.3 Soil conditioner
Materials added to soil to improve the physical and/or chemical properties of the soil, and/or biological activity.
Note: Also known as "soil conditioner".
3.4 Soil compaction
The phenomenon or process in which the soil surface hardens due to the destruction of its physical structure, resulting in soil conditions that are unsuitable for crop production.
