GB/T 42760-2023 gives guidance on applying sensing terminals in smart cities. A city deploys cameras, environmental sensors, traffic detectors, smart poles and meters in the hundreds of thousands, each procured by a different department for a single purpose, mounted on whatever was available and connected however the supplier preferred - and then discovers that it owns an estate it cannot maintain, secure or reuse. The standard addresses the whole life of the device rather than its specification. It classifies the application scenarios by city function and by urban space, sets the adaptation of the terminal to the scenario with the common terminal classes and their functional and performance parameters, and covers the management of the terminals - installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance - and their security, physical, environmental, network and communication. It took effect on 1 December 2023.

The application of sensing terminals in smart cities generally requires comprehensive consideration of sensing terminal application requirements, sensing terminal application adaptation, sensing terminal management, Four aspects of security:
