GB/T 42757-2023 gives the indicator system and index calculation for measuring the level of intelligent manufacturing. Intelligent manufacturing is the central plank of Chinese industrial policy, with support attached to it, which means enterprises are assessed on it and have every reason to present themselves favourably; an index built on what can be verified rather than on what is claimed is what makes the assessment usable. The standard sets the evaluation indicator framework, covering the supporting capability, the level of application and the comprehensive effect achieved, and then the calculation of the index: the data collection, the weighting of the indicators and the calculation formulae. It took effect on 1 December 2023.
