1 Scope

GB/T 42601.3-2023 is Part 3 of the Chinese series on lubrication, shaft sealing and control oil systems for the petroleum, petrochemical and gas industries, and covers general purpose oil systems. General purpose means the machinery that is not the critical unspared train: the pumps, fans and smaller drives that a plant has dozens of, where the redundancy demanded of a special purpose system cannot be justified but the equipment still has to run unattended for years. The standard sets the basic design and the general requirements, then the components - the baseplate, the reservoir, the pumps and their drivers, the coolers, the filters, the transfer valve and the shutdown lube oil tank - the piping covering oil and instrument piping, and the instrumentation, inspection, testing and preparation for shipment. It took effect on 1 December 2023.
