1 Scope

GB/T 42480-2023 guides farmers' cooperatives in building a production management information system. Cooperatives are the structure through which smallholders in China reach markets that individually they could not: they aggregate produce, buy inputs together, and increasingly must document what they did in the field, because traceability, food safety certification and any premium pricing all depend on records. Most cooperatives have neither IT staff nor budget, and the systems they end up with are either far too elaborate to be used by the people who must enter the data or a spreadsheet that answers no question asked of it later. This document establishes the principles for constructing a cooperative's production management system and gives guidance on its structure, its functions and its data. Getting the data model right is what makes the records usable for traceability afterwards, rather than merely collected. Under ICS 65.020 and CCS B04, it is written for the cooperatives themselves, for the agricultural extension services and local authorities that support them, and for the software providers building systems for this market.

This document establishes the principles for the construction of the production management system of farmers' professional cooperatives, and provides the structure, functions, and data of the production management system.
