Scope
GB/T 42181-2022 is the English-translated version of 航空用螺纹抽芯铆钉锁紧力矩测试方法.
GB/T 42181-2022 is the Chinese national test method for the locking torque of self-locking threaded aviation blind fasteners.
It defines locking torque as the torque of relative rotation between the mandrel and the fastener body after installation, with no axial load applied, and its clause 4 fixes the test piece: a threaded blind rivet of at least four parts - body, sleeve, mandrel and drive nut - with a cross recess in the head of the body, as shown in its Figure 1.
The two documents it quotes are GB/T 1800.2 for hole and shaft tolerance classes and JJG 269 for the verification of torsion testing machines. Fastener makers and aircraft laboratories use it. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since 1 April 2023.
