Scope
GB/T 42140-2022 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 云计算 云操作系统性能测试指标和度量方法.
GB/T 42140-2022 sets out how the performance of a cloud operating system is measured.
It gives the technical framework of such a system, states the performance indicators, and describes the measurement method that goes with each one; its contents list puts these under general requirements, the performance efficiency characteristics of concern, and the performance efficiency measures themselves, which take up most of the document.
It defines a cloud operating system as one that provisions and manages physical equipment in a shared, elastic and scalable way and serves computing, storage and network resources on demand through a self-service interface, and it takes the term measure from GB/T 25000.23-2019.
It also quotes GB/T 32399-2015 and GB/T 32400-2015. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since 1 July 2023.

1 Scope
This document provides the technical framework of the cloud operating system, specifies the performance indicators of the cloud operating system, and describes the corresponding measurement methods.
This document is applicable to guide the performance efficiency evaluation of cloud operating systems and their basic services.

3 Terms and Definitions
GB/T 25000.23-2019, GB/T 32400-2015 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Cloud operating system
It is used to provision and manage physical equipment in a shared, elastic and scalable manner, and provides a human-machine interface to self-service on demand.
A cloud computing system that provides users with basic cloud service resources such as computing, storage and network, and can support the execution of services such as PaaS and SaaS software.
3.2 Measure
A variable assigned a value by the result of a measurement.
Note 1. The term "measure" is used as a collective noun to refer to basic measures, derived measures and indicators.
Note 2. In this document, when "measure" is used to quantify quality characteristics or sub-characteristics, it refers to a quality measure.
