GB/T 42014-2022 is the English-translated version of 信息安全技术网上购物服务数据安全要求.

GB/T 42014-2022 sets the data security requirements for online shopping services in China, following the data through collection, storage, transmission, use, processing, provision, disclosure, deletion and transfer out of the country.

Besides the business composition and the data scope of such a service, it covers the collection of personal information, the system permissions an app may ask for, informed consent, automated decision-making, data provision and public disclosure, deletion, and the rights of the personal information subject to access, correct and delete personal information, to close an account and, for minors, to added protection; three further clauses deal with social shopping, live-stream shopping and shopping that joins online and offline.

Written for providers, it can also serve regulators and third-party assessment bodies as a reference. Issued on 14 October 2022, it has applied since 1 May 2023.

1 Scope

This document stipulates the collection, storage, transmission, use, processing, provision, disclosure, deletion, export and other data processing activities of online shopping services safety requirements.

This document is applicable to the standardization of data processing activities of online shopping service providers, and can also be used by regulatory authorities and third-party assessment agencies to regulate online shopping.

Provide reference for supervision, management and evaluation of material service data processing activities.

3.1 Online shopping service

The business activity of selling goods or services through information networks such as the Internet.

Note 1. In addition to mall shopping, common online shopping service forms also include live broadcast shopping, social shopping, online and offline integrated shopping, etc.
