3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in ISO 13943 and the following apply to this document.

The sustained glow of a material after the flame has ceased to be removed from the source of ignition under specified conditions, or when no flame is produced.

3.2

Flame spread time flame-spreadtime

The time required for a flame front on a burning material to travel a specified distance along a surface or to cover a specified surface area under specified conditions.

Note. The flame front refers to the boundary of the flaming burning area on the surface of the material or through the gas mixture.
