Scope
GB/T 41764-2022 is the English-translated version of 辐射固化涂料中光引发剂含量的测定 气相色谱-质谱联用法.
GB/T 41764-2022 specifies how the photoinitiator content of a radiation curable coating is measured by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
Butyl acetate, or another solvent of proven equivalent recovery such as acetone, ethanol, ethyl acetate, acetonitrile, n-hexane or cyclohexane, is used to extract the photoinitiators from the test sample by ultrasound; the extract is made up to volume and then detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, with quantification by the external standard method.
The document applies to the volatile photoinitiator content of radiation-cured coatings and related materials and to the residual volatile photoinitiator content of the coatings.
It defines the photoinitiator and requires calibration compounds of at least 98% purity by mass, or of known purity. Clause 2 cites GB/T 1727-2021, GB/T 3186, GB/T 12806-2011 and GB/T 20777. It was issued on 14 October 2022 and has applied since 1 February 2023.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" drafted.
1 Scope
This document specifies a method for the determination of photoinitiator content in radiation-cured coatings by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
This document is applicable to the determination of volatile photoinitiator content in radiation-cured coatings and related materials, as well as radiation-cured coatings Determination of residual volatile photoinitiator content.
2 Normative references

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Photoinitiator
A reactive intermediate (free radical or cation) that can absorb radiation energy and undergo chemical changes upon excitation substance.
4 Principles
Using butyl acetate and other solvents as the extraction solvent, the photoinitiators in the test samples were extracted by ultrasonic. After the extract was quantified, it was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
Spectrometry was used for detection and external standard method for quantification.
5 Reagents and Materials
Unless otherwise specified, only reagents confirmed to be analytically pure and above are used in the analysis.
5.1 Butyl acetate. of analytical or known purity, does not contain any substances that interfere with the test. Alternatively, a proven recovery equivalent can be selected.
Take a solvent, such as acetone, ethanol, ethyl acetate, acetonitrile, n-hexane, cyclohexane, etc.
5.2 Photoinitiator calibration compound. purity >=98% (mass fraction) or known purity, list of commonly used photoinitiators for radiation curing coatings
