GB/T 41734.7-2023 is the part of the animal radio frequency identification series that governs what happens when two or more readers work close enough together to hear one another. Half-duplex tags are charged by an activation field and answer on frequencies that sit near it, so a reader listening for a faint tag response while a neighbour is still transmitting hears the neighbour instead — animals passing a race, a parlour or a weighing crate go unrecorded, or are recorded as the animal ahead of them. The remedy set out here is a shared synchronization line. Clause 5 defines the protocol that lets readers agree whose turn it is to energise and whose turn it is to listen, clause 6 shows how a synchronized system is put together, clause 7 fixes the electrical characteristics of the bus that carries the timing signal, clause 8 the synchronization method itself, including mobile reader synchronization, and clause 9 the hardware of the synchronization circuit. Annex A carries the normative timing diagram. Terms and abbreviations are taken from Part 1, and the tags concerned are those of GB/T 20563 and GB/T 22334. Written for reader and ear tag manufacturers, livestock traceability integrators, farms running fixed reading points, and conformance laboratories.

This document is modified to adopt ISO 24631-7.2012 "Radio Frequency Identification of Animals - Part 7.Synchronization between ISO 11785 Identification Systems".
Compared with ISO 24631-7.2012, this document has made the following structural adjustments.
--- 5.2~5.9 of Chapter 5 correspond to 5.1~5.8 of ISO 24631-7.2012;
--- 5.6.2~5.6.3 of Chapter 5 correspond to 5.5.1~5.5.2 of ISO 24631-7.2012;
--- 5.7a)~c) of Chapter 5 correspond to 5.6.2~5.6.4 of ISO 24631-7.2012;
--- 9.2~9.4 of Chapter 9 correspond to 9.1~9.3 of ISO 24631-7.2012.
The technical differences between this document and ISO 24631-7.2012 and their reasons are as follows.
--- Changed the scope of application of the standard to adapt to the development of the industry in my country (see Chapter 1);
--- Added GB/T 41734.1 (see Chapter 3 and Chapter 4) for normative references to adapt to the technical conditions of our country;
--- Replaced ISO 11784.1996 (see 5.1, 9.1) with the normative reference GB/T 20563 to adapt to the technical conditions of our country;
--- Replaced ISO 11785.1996 (see 5.1, 9.1, Appendix A) with the normatively quoted GB/T 22334 to adapt to my country's technical standards
