Scope

GB/T 41612-2022 is the English-translated version of 页岩气井产量预测技术规范.

GB/T 41612-2022 sets out how the future production of a shale gas well is predicted. It fixes the requirements for collecting and processing the input data, the prediction methods, the uncertainty analysis and the comprehensive analysis of the results.

The data to be collected include reservoir, wellbore, fracturing and fluid parameters, the gas extraction method, flowback and production data and dynamic monitoring data.

The prediction methods are classified and then described one by one: analysis based on well testing, production decline, productivity well testing, numerical simulation and analogy.

Informative annexes give the typical flow patterns of shale gas horizontal wells, production decline models and guidelines for writing the forecast report. It cites DZ/T 0254, SY/T 5440, SY/T 6171, SY/T 6172 and SY/T 6744, was issued on 11 July 2022 and has applied since 1 November 2022.

4 Data collection and processing

4.1 Data collection

The information to be collected includes but is not limited to the following.

a) Reservoir parameters. target horizon, original formation pressure, original formation temperature, medium depth of reservoir, reservoir thickness, porosity, permeability, permeability rate stress sensitive data (if any), isothermal adsorption test data, water saturation, pore compressibility coefficient, free gas ratio;

b) Wellbore parameters. wellbore structure, wellbore trajectory, length of horizontal section;

c) Fracturing parameters. length of fracturing section, number of fracturing sections or clusters, amount of fracturing fluid, amount of proppant, displacement, sand ratio, pump pressure;

d) Fluid parameters. gas composition, gas relative density, gas compressibility, gas viscosity, gas diffusion coefficient (if any), produced water ore degree (if any);

e) Gas extraction method;

f) Flowback data. liquid flow, gas production, casing pressure, oil pressure during flowback;

g) Production data. see Table 1;

h) Dynamic monitoring data. static pressure, production flow pressure, wellbore pressure gradient, static temperature, flow temperature, wellhead temperature, wellbore temperature gradient, production profile test data (if any), microseismic test data (if any), tracer test data (if any);

i) Other data. It is necessary to determine the necessary data according to the selected yield forecasting method.

---If the production prediction method based on pressure recovery well test is selected, pressure recovery data is required;

---If the production prediction method of the productivity well test method is selected, the productivity well test data is required.
