1 Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions of the coating type, structural composition, main components and coating quality of the coater.

This document is suitable for teaching, scientific research, design, manufacture, application, preparation of relevant technical documents and books and technical exchanges in the coating machine industry.

3 Basic terms

3.1 Coating

The process of spreading and attaching a material with a specific function to the surface of a substrate.

3.1.1 Single-layer coating

The process of attaching a layer of coating liquid to the substrate.

3.1.2 Multilayer coating

The process of attaching two or more layers of coating liquid to the substrate.

3.2 Coating machine

Processing equipment that realizes coating.

3.3 Coating liquid

A material with specific functions that can be attached to the surface of the substrate.

3.4 Substrate

A material whose surface can support a coating liquid.

3.5 Coating speed

The length of the substrate processed by the coater per unit time.

Note: The unit is meters per minute (m/min).

3.6 Coating weight

The weight of the coating liquid per unit area on the substrate.
