Scope

GB/T 41001-2021 is the English-translated version of 密胺塑料餐饮具.

GB/T 41001-2021 is the Chinese national product standard for melamine plastic tableware, made by compression moulding and thermosetting from melamine and formaldehyde or from their low polymers.

It sets requirements for appearance, such as smooth, clean surfaces free of deformation, colour difference and blistered decals, and for physical and mechanical properties, together with the matching test methods.

The inspection rules explain how samples are taken, including the drop test, when delivery and type inspections apply, and how individual items and whole batches are judged as conforming, with re-sampling from the original batch when an item fails.

It also covers marking, packaging, transport and storage, and refers to the national food safety rules for materials in contact with food. It was issued on 26 November 2021 and has applied since 1 June 2022.
