1 Scope
This document specifies the grade requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, signs, labels and packaging, transportation and storage of sika velvet antler.
This document is applicable to the classification of dried sika deer antler products.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Sika deer velvet antler
The stag of Cervus nippon Temminck does not completely ossify the young horns covered with hair.
3.2 Spike velvet antler
The antler that grows during the first antler growth period of a deer.
3.3 First cropped velvet antler
The first antler harvested by a deer during an antler growth period.
3.4 Two-branch velvet antler
The sika velvet antler harvested before the second branch of the meristem is composed of the main stem and the eyebrow branches.
3.5 Three-branch velvet antler
The sika velvet antler harvested before the third branch of the meristem is composed of the main stem, the eyebrow branch and the second branch.
3.6 Regenerated velvet antler
Deer antler harvested for the second time and thereafter in the same antler growth period.
3.7 Deformity velvet antler
Deer antler whose characteristic antler type has changed.
