Scope
GB/T 40921-2021 is the English-translated version of 发泡聚丙烯（PP-E）珠粒.
GB/T 40921-2021 is the Chinese national product standard for expanded polypropylene (PP-E) beads. It applies to beads made mainly from polypropylene and its copolymers with a nucleating agent added and foamed with a physical blowing agent to a given size and shape.
It sets the product classification into general and functional types, the latter being antistatic or flame retardant, and eight basic specifications based on bead bulk density and the apparent density of the moulded product.
It also covers product marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage, with a normative annex on the moulding method.
Bead producers and moulders of PP-E parts use it. It was issued on 26 November 2021 and has applied since 1 June 2022.

4.1.1 According to the characteristics, it can be divided into two categories. general (T) and functional (G); functional types include antistatic (GK) and flame retardant (GZ).
