Scope
GB/T 40684-2021 is the English-translated version of 物联网 信息共享和交换平台通用要求.
GB/T 40684-2021 sets out the general requirements for a platform that lets Internet of Things systems share and exchange information with each other.
It describes the concept and functional architecture of the platform and its functions: data management, from data convergence and compliance checking to processing and storage; catalogue management, with compilation, publishing and metadata; and service support, including directory subscription, query, data provision, real-time data push and statistics.
It also covers platform management, such as registration, user roles, configuration, logs and backup, and a security mechanism with data classification, transmission encryption, user permissions and operation traceability.
An informative annex shows a cascaded deployment. It applies to the design, development and implementation of such platforms. It was issued on 11 October 2021 and has applied since 1 May 2022.

3 Terms and definitions
ISO /IEC 20924:2021 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 IoT system
A system that realizes the functions of the Internet of Things.
