Scope
GB/T 40325-2021 is the English-translated version of 轨道车辆轮对滚动轴承橡胶密封装置性能试验.
GB/T 40325-2021 sets out performance test methods for the rubber sealing devices fitted at the ends of wheelset rolling bearings on railway vehicles, which keep the lubricant in at working temperature and keep dust, liquids and other contaminants out.
These are usually metal-framed lip seals or combined seals, and non-rubber seals can be tested by reference to it.
Its normative references cover rubber hardness in IRHD, liquid resistance, test dust, water content of petroleum products, grease ash, and the dimensions, vocabulary and appearance of rotary shaft lip seals under GB/T 13871 and GB/T 15326.
Freight car bearing oil seals to TB/T 3419 are among the structures it refers to. It was issued on 20 August 2021 and has applied since 1 March 2022.

1 Scope
This document specifies the performance test method for the rubber sealing device of the rolling bearing of rail vehicles.
This document is applicable to the performance determination of the rubber sealing device for rolling bearing of rail vehicles (hereinafter referred to as the sealing device).
Note: The performance test of non-rubber sealing devices can refer to this document.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 13871.2 apply to this document.
3.1 Sealing device
Set at the end of the rolling bearing to prevent leakage of bearing lubricating medium at a certain working temperature, and at the same time prevent external dust, liquid and other impurities Intrusive device.
Note 1. Usually metal frame lip seal ring and combined seal ring, see Figure 1 for schematic diagram.
