Scope
GB/T 39982-2021 is the English-translated version of 水润滑径向滑动轴承 承载能力测试方法.
GB/T 39982-2021 gives a test method for the load-carrying capacity of water-lubricated journal bearings running under hydrodynamic lubrication while fully immersed in water.
It applies to polymer, graphite and rubber bearings with a diameter below 150 mm and is intended for verification tests at the product design stage.
The method rests on the rise in friction factor when the water film breaks down, and it describes the test conditions, the test bench and torque sensor arrangement, the bearing samples and the parameters to be supplied with them.
The procedure covers preparation, running-in and the stepwise loading test, then the calculation of the friction factor, the friction factor versus load curve and the averaged capacity of three samples, and finally the test report. It was issued on 30 April 2021 and has applied since 1 November 2021.

1 Scope
This document gives a test method for the load-carrying capacity of radial sliding bearings under hydrodynamic lubrication under completely water-immersed conditions.
This document is applicable to water-lubricated radial sliding bearings of polymer, graphite and rubber materials with a diameter less than 150mm.
This document is applicable to the verification test at the product design stage.
Note: There are many factors that affect the load-carrying capacity of water-lubricated bearings. In order to ensure the adaptability of the test results into actual use, it is advisable to simulate the actual operation of the bearing as much as possible Environment to get more credible results. Different requirements in practical applications have promoted the development of a variety of sliding bearing load-bearing capacity test benches.
The lubrication conditions and test parameters used on some test benches are not specified in detail, so the test results obtained on different test benches are usually neither comparable nor comparable.
Can not be applied in practice. The same bearing may get inconsistent data in different test benches.

4 Symbols and description
The following symbols apply to this document, see Table 1.
5 Test principle
During the operation of water-lubricated radial sliding bearings, as the load increases, the friction factor will first decrease and then increase.
When the water film is ruptured, the friction factor of the bearing will rise sharply, which will accelerate the wear of the bearing and cause the bearing to fail. By monitoring the bearing during the test The changing trend of the friction factor is based on the sharp increase of the friction factor to judge the bearing capacity of the bearing under hydrodynamic lubrication conditions.
6 Test conditions
This test uses water as the lubricating medium. If you want to simulate the actual working environment (such as rivers, rivers, lakes, seas and other natural environments), you should give a lubrication guide Quality parameters such as temperature, salt content, sand content and particle size.
7 Test device
7.1 Test bench
The water-lubricated radial sliding bearing load capacity test device can be installed and arranged according to Figure 1, and the test bench should have the following characteristics.
a) Simple mechanical structure;
b) Good interchangeability, suitable for water-lubricated bearing tests of different sizes;
c) The bearing seat should be able to resist deformation and prevent the deviation of the shaft;
d) Under the condition of not damaging the pressure distribution of the water film, adequately supply the water medium;
e) It can measure the torque during the operation of the bearing to obtain the friction factor;
f) The loading load and speed can meet the test requirements of water-lubricated bearings.
g) The rated load of the rolling bearing used for loading is not less than the applied load.
7.2 Sensor installation
The installation position of the torque sensor should ensure that it can accurately measure the torque borne by the bearing under test. The torque sensor can be installed as shown in Figure 2 Layout.
8 Samples
There are at least 4 bearing samples, 3 samples are taken for testing, and the other is a backup sample. The bearing sample should provide the following project parameter data.
---Bearing material;
---Bearing size and tolerance class (inner diameter, outer diameter, width);
--- Cylindricity and coaxiality of the bearing;
---Bearing surface roughness;
---The elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio of the bearing material.
9 Test procedure
9.1 Test preparation
Before the test test, ensure that the bench is debugged, soak the bearing sample for 24h, and put the bearing sample and the loading unit in the rolling bearing Circle to clean up.
9.2 Running-in test
The running-in test is performed as follows.
a) Turn on the test device, and set the running speed to 50% of the rated operating speed of the bearing sample, and add it to 100%;
b) After running smoothly for 10 minutes, turn on the loading device, apply a load to the bearing, and load it step by step at 25% of the rated load. To 100%;
c) After the bearing has been running for 30 minutes, the load is gradually reduced to 0MPa, and the speed is reduced to 0r/min.
9.3 Dynamic pressure bearing capacity test
The dynamic pressure bearing capacity test is performed as follows.
a) After the running-in test is completed, adjust the speed to the rated operating speed of the bearing sample.
b) After the friction torque indicator is stable, apply the rated load and observe the bearing friction torque. After the test is carried out for 10 minutes, record the friction torque Moment and calculate the friction factor according to 10.1, and draw the relationship curve of friction factor with load.
c) Load step by step according to 5% rated load. For each additional step, the friction torque is recorded after the test is carried out for 10 minutes, the friction factor is calculated, and the Control the relationship curve of friction factor with load; as the load increases, until the friction factor increases sharply (according to different materials The supplier and the buyer negotiated), and the test was terminated. At this time, it is judged that the load applied in the last test is the dynamic pressure bearing capacity of the bearing sample.
d) After the test, unload and stop, disassemble the bearing sample, and record the friction and wear of the inner surface of the bearing.
If there are obvious scratches or local wear, it is judged that the dynamic pressure bearing capacity data of the bearing sample is valid; otherwise, the test data of this group invalid.
e) After the end of a set of tests, run-in and test the next bearing sample until three sets of valid test data are obtained, then end the test.
10 Test data processing
10.1 Calculation of friction factor
The friction factor of the tested bearing can be calculated according to formula (1) based on the torque measured by the torque test unit.
10.2 Draw the relationship curve between friction factor and load
By drawing the relationship curve of the friction factor with the load, the bearing capacity of each group of bearing samples is obtained.
10.3 Carrying capacity calculation
The bearing capacity of the three sets of bearing samples measured in the test is averaged, and the bearing capacity of the bearing sample under the condition of dynamic pressure lubrication is obtained.
