Scope
GB/T 39771.1-2021 is the English-translated version of 半导体发光二极管光辐射安全 第1部分:要求与等级分类方法.
GB/T 39771.1-2021 is the first part of the Chinese standard on the optical radiation safety of LEDs, and it gives the safety requirements and the classification.
It sets the requirements on the optical radiation of a light emitting diode and the method by which it is placed in a hazard group, from the exempt group to the higher risk groups.
It applies to single-chip and multi-chip LEDs emitting between 300 nm and 780 nm, in the near ultraviolet and the visible. LED makers, luminaire manufacturers and test laboratories use it. Issued on 9 March 2021, it has applied since 1 October 2021.

Foreword
GB/T 39771 "Semiconductor Light-Emitting Diode Optical Radiation Safety" is divided into 2 parts.
---Part 1: Requirements and classification methods;
---Part 2: Test method. This part is Part 1 of GB/T 39771.
This section was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
Introduction
High-brightness (radiance) semiconductor light-emitting diodes have been widely used in lighting, display and other consumer electronic products, and their optical radiation The impact on human health is one of the product safety issues.
This section mainly considers semiconductor light-emitting diodes with light radiation wavelengths in the near ultraviolet and visible light regions. The possible light radiation hazards are Ultraviolet hazards of eyes and skin, near-ultraviolet eye hazards, retinal blue light hazards and retinal heat hazards. At present, semiconductor light-emitting diodes The retinal heat hazard is not obvious, and it is temporarily out of the scope of this section.
The blue light hazard of the retina is related to the absorption of short-wavelength blue and violet light by the cornea and lens of the eye.
External filtering effect, the main damage to the retina is blue light radiation. For infants, intraocular lenses (related to the cut-off wavelength) and people with aphakia In some cases, some ultraviolet radiation may be directly irradiated to the retina. This section is recommended as a lens for consideration, see Appendix A.
Due to the potential impact of long-term use of semiconductor light-emitting diodes on human health, the relevant situation is still under study.
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 39771 specifies the optical radiation safety requirements and hazard levels of semiconductor light-emitting diodes (hereinafter referred to as LED) Class method.
This section applies to single-chip or multi-chip LEDs with light radiation wavelengths in the near-ultraviolet and visible regions (300nm~780nm).

3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 20145-2006, GB/T 30117.2-2013 and SJ/T 11395-2009 defined and the following terms and definitions apply In this document.
3.1 Emission limit
For a specific hazard type, the maximum allowable light emission value.
3.2 Smalsource
A light source whose subtended angle is smaller than the acceptance angle.
Note: The opposite angle refers to the viewing angle formed by the observation source facing the observer's eyes or the measuring point.
3.3 UV hazard for the eyes and skin UVhazardfortheeyeandskin
The potential photochemical hazards when the eyes and skin are exposed to ultraviolet radiation, the effective spectrum range is 200nm~400nm.
Note: The starting wavelength of this section is 300nm.
3.4 UV hazard irradiance for the eyes and skin UVhazardirradiancefortheeyeandskin
The weighted product of the spectral irradiance Elambda in the spectral range from 300nm to 400nm and the spectral function SUV(lambda) (see Appendix B)
The value obtained by dividing is calculated as shown in formula (1). Elambda·SUV(lambda)·deltalambda (1)
