1 Scope

This standard applies to household reciprocating electric hair clippers and hair trimmers.

This standard relates to the performance test methods of household electric hair clippers and hair trimmers with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V.

This standard does not specify safety or performance requirements.

This standard does not apply to professional electric hair clippers and trimmers, animal electric hair clippers and razors. For electric shavers, see QB/T 2532.

Note. This standard does not involve safety requirements (IEC 60335-2-8).

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1

Hair clipper and trimmer

An appliance for cutting hair, consisting of a motor, a drive system, a fixed blade with teeth, and a movable blade with teeth that can reciprocate.

Cut or trim your hair, not for shaving.

Note. According to specific functions, hair clippers can also be called hair trimmers.

3.2

Battery-powered barber and trimmer

Only obtain energy from the primary battery or secondary battery, not through the charger connected to the mains or the battery box provided by the manufacturer.

Electric hair clippers and trimmers.

Note. If the manufacturer provides hair clippers and hair trimmers with specific chargers and rechargeable batteries, this combination device is considered to be rechargeable when testing the performance.

3.3

Rechargeable hair clipper and trimmer

Hair clippers and hair trimmers powered by rechargeable batteries or battery boxes charged in the hair clippers and trimmers.

Note. There are two types of rechargeable hair clippers and hair trimmers. rechargeable hair clippers and hair trimmers without cords and plug-and-play rechargeable hair clippers and hair trimmers.

Rechargeable hair clipper and trimmer without cord

Rechargeable hair clippers and hair trimmers that are not intended to work when connected to a mains or charger.
