1 Scope

This standard specifies the test for determining the low-temperature brittleness of fabric-reinforced rubber and plastic hoses and non-reinforced hoses by flattening hose samples.

This standard only applies to hoses with a nominal inner diameter less than or equal to 100mm.

3 Principle

Flatten a hose sample to 50% of its inner diameter at the test temperature, and after the pressure is relieved, check whether there are cracks or other

unusual phenomenon.

4.1 Compression fixture or other appropriate device. consists of two large enough flat plates, which can squash the hose to 50% of its inner diameter.

5 Sample

Take a circular sample of about 25mm from the hose to be tested.

6 Test temperature

The test should be carried out at one of the following temperatures or the low temperature specified by other relevant product standards.

----10 degrees C+/-2 degrees C;

----25 degrees C+/-2 degrees C;

----40 degrees C+/-2 degrees C;

----55 degrees C+/-2 degrees C.
