Scope

GB/T 38897-2020 is the English-translated version of 无损检测 弹性模量和泊松比的超声测量方法.

GB/T 38897-2020 is the Chinese standard "Non-destructive testing—Measurement method for material elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio using ultrasoinc velocity".

Its scope clause reads: This standard specifies the ultrasonic measurement method of material elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio based on the sound velocity method, including personnel, equipment, samples, procedures and reports Complaint and other requirements.

This standard is applicable to the detection of the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio of metal and non-metal solid materials. Other composite solid materials can also be used by reference. Its clauses include terms and definitions.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the ultrasonic measurement method of material elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio based on the sound velocity method, including personnel, equipment, samples, procedures and reports

Complaint and other requirements.

This standard is applicable to the detection of the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio of metal and non-metal solid materials. Other composite solid materials can also be used by reference.

2 Normative references

Pieces. For the cited documents without date, the latest version (including all amendments) applies to this document.

GB/T 10623 Terminology of mechanical properties of metallic materials

GB/T 12604.1 Terminology for non-destructive testing Ultrasonic testing

GB/T 15014 Terms and definitions of physical quantities of elastic alloys, expansion alloys, thermal bimetals, and resistance alloys

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 10623, GB/T 12604.1 and GB/T 15014 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Body wave

Waves propagating in infinite or semi-infinite elastic media.

3.2 Guided wave

Waves propagating in a bounded elastic medium.

3.3 Torsional wave

Waves of torsional vibration propagating along the axis in round rods, tubes and wires.

3.4 Signal leading edge

The intersection of the rising edge of the echo peak and the time base.

Note. As shown in Figure 1a), the points B1, B2, B3 and B4 in the half-wave detection signal are the signal front; as shown in Figure 1b), the points in the bipolar detection signal

R1, R2, R3 and R4 are the signal leading edges.
