4 Grading and code

4.1 Product grading

Spherical graphite is represented by SG. Its specific grades are shown in Table 1.

4.2 Code

The product code is composed of the product name, grade code, median diameter (D50), fixed carbon content and tap density in sequence, namely.

5 Technical requirements

5.1 Appearance

A powder of gray black or steel gray.

5.2 Physical and chemical indexes

The physical and chemical indexes of spherical graphite shall meet the requirements of Table 1. If there are special requirements, the supplier and the purchaser shall negotiate and determine.

6 Test methods

6.1 Appearance

Observe visually under natural light conditions.

6.2 Particle size distribution

Determine in accordance with the provisions of Appendix A in GB/T 24533-2019.

6.3 Moisture

7 Inspection rules

7.1 Sampling method

7.1.1 Sampling and sample preparation are carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1427. The sampling drill is stainless steel designation 316 or equivalent; with a diameter of not more than 30 mm and a length of 500 mm~700 mm.

7.1.2 After the sample is placed in a polyethylene plastic container, a label shall be affixed to the outer wall. The label shall include the following.

7.1.3 The samples shall be sealed and stored. The storage period of spare samples is 18 months.

7.2 Inspection classification

7.2.1 Exit-factory inspection. For each lot, after the particle size, carbon content, moisture, tap density, specific surface area, trace elements (iron, sodium, chromium, copper, nickel, aluminum and molybdenum), and magnetic substances (iron + chromium + nickel + zinc + cobalt) pass the inspection, the quality inspection report will be attached.

7.3 Acceptance rules

7.3.1 The product is qualified if it meets all technical indexes in Table 1, Table 3, Table 4 and Table 5. If 1 index fails to meet the requirements of the standard, double number of samples shall be taken from the sampling bag of the same lot of products, to re-inspect the unqualified item.

8 Product packaging, storage and transportation

8.1 The packaging of the product meets the requirements of GB/T 191. The net weight is negotiated between the supplier and the purchaser.

8.2 The packaging shall be carried out in a dry environmental conditions. First put the product into a waterproof packaging bag (PE sealed bag and aluminum-plastic sealed bag are recommended). Special packaging requirements shall be negotiated between the supplier and the purchaser.

8.4 Products shall be stored in a ventilated and dry warehouse.

8.5 The stacking of products shall be neat and clean. Markings such as production lot number shall be clearly identifiable.

8.7 During storage and transportation, it shall be ensured that the product packaging is clean and undamaged. Any product, which leaks out of the package, must not be returned to the package. […]
