5 Application Scenarios of IPTV Media Delivery System

5.1 IPTV media distribution and delivery application scenarios

5.1.1 Application scenarios of static content delivery services such as EPG browsing, media content download, audio and video on demand, etc.

When IPTV service providers provide services, for the convenience of end users, they usually provide EPG browsing services for end users to choose.

Refer to use before selecting IPTV program content. Audio and video on-demand services are one of the most popular IPTV services by end users.

Widely distributed and large number of end-user groups, and some end-users, according to their own preferences, hope to download some media content to the end-use The user's client is for you to use at your convenience. If some of the above IPTV services are provided through only one IPTV content source It is bound to cause huge pressure on the bearer network and the source of IPTV content. In this application scenario, the IPTV media delivery system The static content (all or part) in the source service is distributed in advance to the edge service deployed close to the user's access end, and the user requests it accordingly.

When content, the content routing system in the IPTV media delivery system redirects the requesting user to the corresponding edge service according to the corresponding strategy On the server, the edge server provides users with the requested content to reduce the pressure on the backbone network and the transmission delay of the content on the network.

Improve the user's quality of experience. When the content requested by the user is not stored or cached in the edge server, the edge server will send it to its superior or source The server provides services to the user after requesting the corresponding content.

This application scenario is suitable for browsing EPG content such as pictures, text, animation, audio and video, as well as audio and video such as movies, TV, music, and songs. Browse, download and on-demand services of video content.

5.1.2 Application Scenarios of Audio and Video Live Service

Providing audio and video programs to end users in a live broadcast mode is the closest way to radio and television that users are accustomed to and favorite.

One of the important applications provided by IPTV services. When the live broadcast method is used to provide services on an IP-based network, the internal capacity is large (such as video Program content), the large number of received users, and the scattered distribution will cause huge traffic to the IP backbone network, and bring huge traffic to the IP backbone transmission.

Great pressure. In this application scenario, the IPTV media delivery system first distributes the live content of the live source to unicast or multicast Edge server, and then the edge server multicasts corresponding live content to users requesting live content to reduce the traffic of the network and live source And visit pressure, and improve the quality of user service experience.

This application scenario is suitable for but not limited to services such as movie or music playback, live broadcast and advertisement delivery, and live text content distribution.

5.1.3 Service application scenarios of virtual private IPTV media delivery system

Some IPTV content providers or enterprises usually need to adopt an IPTV media delivery system based on their business characteristics and development needs.

System, to achieve content distribution within a specific geographic area. At the same time, it is hoped that the IPTV media delivery system used can be managed and managed by itself.

Control is like a self-built IPTV media delivery system, but you don't want to invest resources to build an IPTV media that will only be used for a period of time.

Body delivery system. In this application scenario, the owner of the IPTV media delivery system can use their own IPTV media with sufficient resources According to the actual needs of customers, the delivery system divides several independent virtual IPTV media delivery systems to provide customer services to meet Customers need to manage and use IPTV media delivery system by themselves.

5.1.4 Application scenarios of content distribution services across different networks

Some IPTV content providers connect their content sources to only a certain type of network (fixed network or mobile network), but hope that they provide The content provides services to users of different types of networks. In this application scenario, the IPTV media delivery system The body delivery system infrastructure is built across multiple types of networks to provide content providers to content providers.

Send to different operator networks and different types of network users.

5.2 Capability or resource service application scenarios

5.2.1 Application scenarios of data processing services

With the continuous development of data processing technology and the data processing capabilities of equipment, the content used by users is usually in a variety of encoding formats, graphics The film format and file format exist. When using different facilities to use these contents, due to the decoding capabilities and display capabilities of the corresponding equipment The content format of the service to be provided needs to be converted. When there is a large amount of content that needs to be formatted, the conversion frequency is similar.

For smaller cases, if the IPTV content provider itself performs the corresponding work, it needs to spend a lot of money to purchase the corresponding equipment to Completion makes the cost of corresponding data processing higher. If the data processing capability of the IPTV media delivery system is used as content The owner or content provider completes the above-mentioned format conversion and other tasks, which can save users the cost of purchasing the corresponding equipment. In this application scenario, The IPTV media delivery system uses its own redundant data processing capabilities to provide users with corresponding data processing services.

This application scenario includes but is not limited to audio and video content transcoding services, image format conversion services, content hot update services, and small files Aggregation services, etc.

5.2.2 Application Scenarios of Statistics Service

IPTV content providers need to understand the usage of their various resources. For example, within a certain period of time, the content they provide is accessed by users.

Ask the overall situation, access to specific content and statistical information such as the area covered by users accessing its content. Should be In the application scenario, the IPTV media delivery system uses the user information collected when the user accesses the content information provided by the corresponding content provider.

Log information such as the accessed content and the address information of the accessing user, according to the specific needs of the IPTV content provider, after the collected Perform statistical analysis on the data, and report the statistical analysis results to content providers to provide statistical services; at the same time, the IPTV media delivery system also The experience accumulated in the past and the user's access to the content provided by the corresponding content provider can be used to analyze and determine the Corresponding security threats that may be brought by content sources, provide content providers with corresponding report information.

This application scenario includes but is not limited to user usage statistics services.

5.2.3 QoE Improved Service Application Scenarios

The improvement of user experience quality involves all links in the entire chain from content source to user terminal, corresponding to different application methods QoE indicators are also different. For live broadcast services, the switching speed of channels is also one of the indicators that affect the quality of user experience.

The difference in packet and network congestion levels are also related factors that affect the quality of user experience. Some of the above factors can usually be found in the ring closest to the user end.

Section adopts corresponding technology or strategy to solve, thereby improving the quality of user experience. In this application scenario, the IPTV media delivery system provides Providers can use their own technology to provide content providers with corresponding services that improve the quality of user experience.

This application scenario includes but is not limited to ARQ, FCC, code stream adaptive service, packet loss compensation service, and FEC service.
