Introduction

The end-to-end IoT network is generally composed of a sensor network and a public telecommunication network.

The IoT gateway is an important network device that connects the sensor network with the public telecommunication network.

Now is a favorable time and a critical period for standardization and standardized testing of IoT gateways for public telecommunication network access.

Clarify the testing requirements for the general access network of the Internet of Things for access to public telecommunications networks to guide the production and system deployment of Internet of Things gateways.

GB/T 38624 "Internet of Things Gateway" involves public telecommunications network access related technologies and non-public telecommunications network access related technologies.

It focuses on different standardization objects and is planned to consist of three parts.

— Part 1: Technical requirements for gateways for sensory device access. The purpose is to standardize the Internet of Things network for sensory device access.

Related functional requirements and general data configuration requirements.

— Part 2: Technical requirements for gateways for public telecommunication network access. The purpose is to standardize gateways for public telecommunication network access.

Related network interfaces, general technical requirements, configuration and management requirements, and security requirements.

— Part 3: Test methods for gateways for access to public telecommunications networks. The purpose is to describe the test methods for gateways for access to public telecommunications networks based on the technical requirements of Part 2.

1 Scope

The test methods specified in this document are for the two types of IoT gateway service modes defined in GB/T 38624.2-2021, namely, channel mode and The test method of the universal access gateway of the Internet of Things for public telecommunication network access is described, including interface performance, performance test, basic function test, gateway operation and maintenance test, electrical safety test, and environmental test.

This document is applicable to the testing of IoT gateway devices for access to public telecommunication networks.
