Scope
GB/T 38276-2019 is the English-translated version of 润滑系统 术语和图形符号.
China's national standard for lubrication system terminology and graphical symbols. It specifies the basic terms, the system types and the symbols used to draw them. A lubrication system is designed as a schematic, in the same way a hydraulic or pneumatic circuit is, and the symbols are what make that schematic readable: the pump, the reservoir, the filter, the pressure switch, the progressive divider, the injector, the metering valve and the monitoring devices each have a form that says what they do. The vocabulary matters as much, because the distinctions are real and easily confused. A single line system, a dual line system and a progressive system distribute lubricant by completely different principles, and they fail differently - a progressive divider blocks and stops the whole branch, giving a signal, while a single line injector that stops delivering does so silently. Naming them consistently is what lets a maintenance engineer read a machine they have not seen before.

1 Scope
This standard defines terms and graphical symbols for lubrication systems. This standard applies to scientific research, engineering and technical documents, publications, terminology and graphical symbols of lubrication systems.
