This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard uses the translation method equivalent to ISO 16548.2012 "Guidelines for emergency towing procedures for ship and marine technology ship design".

This standard is proposed and managed by the National Marine Ship Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC12).

1 Scope

This standard gives guidelines for towing procedures for cargo ships and passenger ships in accordance with SOLAS regulation II-1/3-4 in emergency situations.

New cargo ships shall be provided on January 1,.2010 and beyond, and the required ship emergency towing procedures shall be provided. All passenger ships shall be on January 1,.2010.

The ship emergency towing procedure specified previously was provided. Goods built before January 1,.2010 in accordance with SOLAS regulation II-1/3-4

The ship shall provide the required ship emergency towing procedure before January 1,.2012.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Tugboat towingship

Maneuver other ships or boats by pushing or towing.

3.2

Towedship towedship

A ship that is pushed or towed by a tugboat.

3.3

Emergency towing system emergencytowingsystem; ETS

Systems (equipment and rigging) for emergency towing of tankers in accordance with SOLAS regulation II-1/3-4.

Examples. anti-erasing chains, towlines, chain tethers, strong fairleads and cable collection devices.

Towline

A strong rope used by tugboats used to pull ships.

3.5

Cable messengerrope

A rope located between the throwing rope and the streamer.
