Scope

GB/T 37600.1-2018 is the English-translated version of 全国主要产品分类产品类别核心元数据第1部分：描述方法.

GB/T 37600.1-2018 is the first part of the Chinese national series on core metadata for product categories, and sets the description rules that the other parts follow for single product types such as forgings, lighting, musical instruments and clothing.

Working from the national product classification of GB/T 7635, it gives the basic principles and guidelines for describing the core metadata of a product category.

It covers the core metadata attributes, their description in the Unified Modeling Language and in a data dictionary, and the principles for extending the core metadata.

It defines metadata, product category core metadata, metadata element and metadata entity. It is meant for anyone describing and using product category metadata based on GB/T 7635. It was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

1 Scope

This part of GB/T 37600 gives the basic principles and description guidelines for the core metadata of the product category based on GB/T 7635.

This section applies to the description and use of the core metadata of the product category based on GB/T 7635.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Metadata

Define and describe data for other data. [GB/T 18391.1-2009, definition 3.2.16]

3.2 Product category core metadata

Describe the underlying, generic metadata elements and metadata entities of product category attributes.

Note: The product category core metadata focuses primarily on the properties that the product itself has after manufacturing. Various genera produced by products in different fields of application Sex is represented by the development of extended metadata.

3.3 Metadata element

The basic unit of metadata.

Note 1. Metadata elements are unique within the metadata entity.

Note 2. Synonymous with attributes in UML terminology. [GB/T 19710-2005, definition 4.6]

3.4 Metadata entity

A set of metadata elements that describe the same characteristics of the data.

Note 1. One or more metadata entities may be included.
