Scope

GB/T 37340-2019 is the English-translated version of 电动汽车能耗折算方法.

GB/T 37340-2019 provides the methods for converting the electric energy consumption of an electric vehicle into an equivalent fuel consumption. Clause 1 states that it applies to pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and names no exclusions.

The document is built around three calculation clauses, clause 4 on the calculation and determination of the electric energy consumption of a vehicle type, clause 5 on the heat value conversion method and clause 6 on the CO2 emission conversion method, with an informative Appendix A giving numerical reference values for the formula calculation parameters together with a worked example, and a bibliography at the end.

Clause 5 offers two routes, a simple conversion method whose formula (1) gives the equivalent fuel consumption FC in litres per 100 kilometres from the electric energy consumption of the vehicle E in kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometres and the energy factor of fuel FE in litres per kilowatt-hour, and a fuel life cycle conversion method whose formula (2) gives an equivalent fuel consumption FCe; the standard fixes how far each quantity is rounded off, to two decimal places for FC and E and four for FE.

Clause 6 works the same way for carbon dioxide, calculating the CO2 conversion factor by formula (5) from the standard coal consumption of thermal power supply, the CO2 emission factor of fuel coal, the thermal power ratio, the CO2 emission factor of fuel, the reduced factor of fuel coal and standard coal, the charge efficiency and the line loss rate, again with a stated rounding for each.

Clause 4 states that the electric energy consumption of a pure electric vehicle shall be converted into an equivalent gasoline or diesel consumption and sends the reader to Appendix A for the parameters used in these calculations.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 18386, GB/T 19233, GB/T 19596, GB/T 19753 and GB/T 19754, and the electric energy consumption E is to be measured according to GB/T 18386, GB/T 19233, GB/T 19753 and GB/T 19754.

Clause 3 takes its terms from GB/T 19596 and adds the fuel energy factor, the fuel volume that generates the same heat value as the unit of electric quantity, in a definition the draft on this page cuts off in mid-sentence. It was issued on March 25, 2019 and has applied since October 1, 2019.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 19596 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Fuel energy factor

The fuel volume which generates the same heat value (1 kW . h=3600 kJ) as the unit electric quantity, calculated by GB/T 2589, GB 17930, GB 19147, in

4 Calculation and determination of electric energy consumption of vehicle types

For a pure electric vehicle, its electric energy consumption shall be converted into equivalent gasoline/diesel consumption. See Appendix A for the parameters used in the above calculations.

5 Heat value conversion method

5.1 Simple conversion method

According to formula (1), the equivalent fuel consumption (FC) of electric energy is calculated:

Where:

FC - Equivalent fuel consumption, in liters per 100 kilometers (L/100 km). The calculation result is rounded off to two decimal places;

E - The electric energy consumption of vehicle, in kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers (kW . h/100 km). It is measured according to GB/T 18386, GB/T 19233, GB/T 19753, GB/T 19754. Its value is rounded off to two decimal places;

FE - The energy factor of fuel, in liters per kilowatt-hour [L/(kW . h)]. The value is rounded off to four decimal places.

5.2 Fuel life cycle conversion method

5.2.1 Calculation of equivalent fuel consumption (FCe)

According to formula (2), the equivalent fuel consumption (FCe) is calculated:

Where:

FCe - Equivalent fuel consumption, in liters per 100 kilometers (L/100 km). The calculation result is rounded off to two decimal places;

E - The electric energy consumption of vehicle, in kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers (kW . h/100 km). It is measured according to GB/T 18386, GB/T 19233, GB/T 19753, GB/T 19754. Its value is rounded off to two decimal places;

FE - The energy factor of fuel, in liters per kilowatt-hour [L/(kW . h)]. The value

6 CO2 emission conversion method

E - The electric energy consumption of vehicle, in kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers (kW . h/100 km). It is measured according to GB/T 18386, GB/T 19233, GB/T 19753, GB/T 19754. Its value is rounded off to two decimal places;

FCO2 - CO2 conversion factor, in liters per kilowatt-hour [L/(kW . h)]. According to formula (5), it is calculated. The value is rounded off to two decimal places.

6.2 Calculation of CO2 conversion factor (FCO2)

According to formula (5), the CO2 conversion factor (FCO2) is calculated:

Where:

FCO2 - CO2 conversion factor, in liters per kilowatt-hour [L/(kW . h)]. The value is rounded off to two decimal places;

TE - Standard coal consumption of thermal power supply, in kilograms per kilowatt-hour [kg/(kW . h)]. The value is rounded off to three decimal places;

TC - CO2 emission factor of fuel coal. The value is rounded off to two decimal places;

phi - Thermal power ratio, %. The value is rounded off to one decimal place;

TF - CO2 emission factor of fuel. The value is rounded off to two decimal places;

tM - Reduced factor of fuel coal and standard coal. The value is rounded off to two decimal places;

ich - Charge efficiency, %. The value is rounded off to an integer bit;

itr - Line loss rate, %. The value is rounded off to two decimal places. […]
