Scope
GB/T 37311-2019 is the English-translated version of 秦川牛及其杂交后代生产性能评定.
GB/T 37311-2019 lays down how the performance of Qinchuan cattle and their crossbreeding progeny is to be assessed.
Clause 1 states that it specifies the requirements and methods for assessing growth performance, body condition and meat production performance, and that it applies to the performance evaluation of Qinchuan cattle and their hybrid progeny.
Clause 3 defines Qinchuan cattle crossbreeding progeny as the hybrids obtained using Qinchuan cattle as the sire and cattle of other origin as the dam, containing 75% or more Qinchuan cattle lineage.
Clause 4 covers the assessment of growth performance and names the evaluation indicators, which are body height, oblique body length, chest circumference, sciatic end width and body weight, assessed for both bulls and cows at 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42 and 48 months of age, with newborn calves assessed on body weight alone.
The same clause requires the measurements to be taken according to NY/T 2660 and the results to be graded against Table 1, which gives the grades Special, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 by age class and sex, and provides that where the indicators do not fall in the same grade the lowest one determines the rating.
Clause 2 cites NY/T 676 on beef grading specifications and NY/T 2660 on technical specifications for the measurement of beef cattle production performance.
The standard was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, is administered by the National Animal Husbandry Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 274) and was drafted by Northwest A&F University together with Yangling Vocational and Technical College and the Yangling Modern Agricultural Standardization Research and Extension Service Centre. It was issued on 25 March 2019 and has applied since 1 October 2019.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements and methods for assessing the growth performance, body condition and meat production performance of Qinchuan cattle and their hybrid progeny.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Qinchuan cattle hybrid offspring
The Qinchuan cattle are used as the male parent, and the other places are the female parent. The hybrids obtained from the hybrids contain 75% or more of the Qinchuan cattle lineage.
4 Growth performance assessment
4.1 Evaluation indicators
The height and body angle of the male and the cow are 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months, 30 months, 36 months, 42 months, 48 months, respectively.
The long, chest circumference, sciatic width and body weight were evaluated. Newborn cattle are only assessed for weight.
4.2 Measurement methods
The measurement method is performed in accordance with the provisions of NY/T 2660.
4.3 Assessment method
Body height, body length, chest circumference, sciatic width and body weight were assessed according to Table 1. If the above indicators are not at the same level, the lowest indicator Rating.
