1.Scope This document specifies the water quality requirements, sampling and judgment rules for drinking water and water used in livestock and poultry product processing, and describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to drinking water for livestock and poultry raised in large-scale indoor farming and water used for livestock and poultry slaughtering and processing. This document does not apply to drinking water for dairy animals.

4 Water quality requirements

4.1 Drinking water for livestock and poultry It should meet the requirements of Table 1.

4.2 Water used for livestock and poultry slaughtering and processing It should comply with the requirements of GB 5749.

5.1 Sampling Points

5.1.1 Water sampling points in aquaculture farms should be located at the end of the water supply before it enters the aquaculture process.

5.1.2 The water sampling point in the slaughterhouse should be at the water outlet at the end of the water pipe in the production workshop.

5.2 Sample Collection and Preservation It should meet the requirements of GB/T 5750.2.

6 Test Methods

6.1 Chromaticity The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.4.

6.2 Turbidity The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.4.

6.3 Odor and Taste The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.4.

6.4 Total Hardness (as CaCO3) The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.4.

6.5 pH The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.4.

6.6 Total dissolved solids The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.4.

6.7 Sulfates The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.5.

6.8 Total coliforms The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.12.

6.9 Nitrates (as nitrogen) The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.5.

6.10 Cyanide The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.5.

6.11 Fluorides The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.5.

6.12 Arsenic The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.6.

6.13 Mercury The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.6.

6.14 Lead The determination shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 5750.6.

7 Judgment Rules

7.1 If all inspection items comply with this document, the test shall be deemed qualified; otherwise, the test shall be deemed unqualified.
