Scope
GB/T 37251-2018 is the English-translated version of 堇青石基高温陶瓷膜过滤元件.
GB/T 37251-2018 covers cordierite-based ceramic membrane filter elements used to clean hot gases. It defines the element as a porous ceramic article made of a support and a separation membrane, together with membrane area, filtration velocity and filtration pressure drop, the latter measured with clean air at a filtration velocity of 1 m/min.
It sets out the product classification, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging and storage, with tests drawn from the national methods for porosity and bulk density, pore size, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, bending strength of ceramic tubes and thermal shock resistance.
It applies to high-temperature gas and flue gas purification in industrial boilers, metallurgical smelting, building materials and waste incineration. It was issued on 28 December 2018 and has applied since 1 November 2019.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 High temperature ceramic membrane filter element
A high temperature resistant porous ceramic article composed of a support and a separation membrane.
3.2 Membrane area
The outer surface of the ceramic component serves as an effective area for filtering.
3.3 Support
The base of the ceramic membrane filter element provides strength support for the separation membrane and the like.
3.4 Separation membrane
A film that adheres to the outer surface of the support and has a fine pore size and functions as a surface filter.
3.5 Filtration wind speed
The surface velocity of the fluid through the ceramic membrane element.
3.6 Filtration pressure drop
Under standard conditions, with clean air as the filter medium, the resistance of the gas passing through the membrane element is lowered under the condition of a filtration wind speed of 1 m/min.
